Ever heard of Condoleeza Rice or Colin Powell? They were black and worked for the Bush Administration. Nobody threw them an multi-million dollar festival because they were blacks who got high-ranking jobs. Michael Steele has all of the credentials an RNC chairman requires. He was the Lt. Gov of Maryland and the RNC Chair in Maryland. It's not like they just picked up some black guy off the street and made him the chairman. There are people of all kinds in the republican party.. Bobby Jindal, Sarah Palin, and so on.

Michale Steele's race was a factor, but he is qualified anyway. If you are seeking to attract more Blacks to the Republican Party, selecting Mike Steele to be Chairman is a pretty good idea.
