Yes they can but not A good idea, do to size difference also health problems. Can diffrent types of conures breed together, like a black headed conure and a green check or a sun conure?
I own a hybrid conure, he is a cross between a Sun and a Jenday....a Sunday. I breed as a hobby. Hybridization is sometimes frowned upon and is a huge argument in the breeding world. The reason for this is because it muddys the bloodlines of pure species. Also if you continue to breed hybrids (just like with mutations) you could end up having birds with problems. Not every single one will have problems, and it probably wouldn't appear in first or second generations. I am a fence sitter on this subject because I don't really agree or disagree. I own a hybrid, I love him and he is awesome...I wouldn't breed hybrids myself but that's just me. I can tell you that some species (like predominantly macaw's and conure's) do hybridize in the wild if they cannot find a mate within their own sub-species. This is not uncommon to see birds cross in the wild due to inavailability of suitable mates.
If you decide this is something that you really want to do, your bird would be best paired with another of the Pyrrhura sub-species. Blue- throats, green-cheeks, white-eareds, pearly, painted, red-bellied...or something along that size.
Do you mean a Black Cap Conure? Do you have exp. breeding? If not its not a good idea to hybreed. Its not that it isnt done its just done by people with massive years experience. So your probably saying how do you get that without doing it, right? Well you start out by breeding the same breeds with eachother to gain experience and knowledge..
They wont have baby birds,That is a fact. The Black Capped is a lot smaller.
